\nYou do not understand such speech, my lovely one.
\nThat is what\u2019s wrong.
\nI do not acknowledge this world or the next.
\nGod be praised for these heretical \u200bthoughts.
\nI don\u2019t know who is within wounded-hearted me
\nthat I am silent while he shouts and moans.
\nMy heart has dropped its veil. Where are you, 0 minstrel?
\nSing your songs that will save me.
\nI never cared about worldly things. To my eyes
\nyour face gave them their beauty.
\nThe thoughts churning in my head keep me awake.
\nI\u2019ve had a hangover for months. Where is the tavern?
\nGiven how my heart\u2019s blood stained the cloister,
\nyou have the righteous authority to wash me with wine.
\nThey cherish me in the Zoroastrian temple
\nbecause the flame in my heart never dies.
\nWhat instrument did the minstrel play behind the veil?
\nthat life has passed by and my mind is still filled with joy?
\nLast night your love echoed within me.
