(AP Photo\/Evan\u2026\" width=\"737\" height=\"491\" \/><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div><figcaption>President Donald Trump arrives for a campaign rally at Eppley Airfield, Oct. 27, 2020, in Omaha, Neb.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Trump, Biden and their respective running mates\u00a0\u2014 Vice President Mike Pence and California Senator Kamala Harris\u00a0\u2014 are continuing to make their closing arguments to voters on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Focus on Arizona\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both Trump and Harris are campaigning in Arizona, the southwestern state along the Mexican border that Trump won in 2016 against Democrat Hillary Clinton en route to a four-year term in the White House. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But polls in the state, where no Democratic presidential candidate has won since 1996, now show Biden narrowly ahead.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The state has 11 of the 270 electoral votes that either Trump or Biden will need to claim the presidency and be inaugurated on January 20. U.S. presidential elections are decided in an indirect form of democracy in the 538-member Electoral College, not the national popular vote.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Typically, all of a state\u2019s Electoral College votes go to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in each of the 50 states, with the most populous states holding the most sway.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Trump is holding two afternoon rallies in Arizona, in Bullhead City and Goodyear. \u00a0<\/p>\n<figure role=\"group\">\n<div class=\"embedded-entity\" data-embed-button=\"wysiwug_image\" data-entity-embed-display=\"view_mode:media.large_embedded\" data-entity-type=\"media\" data-entity-uuid=\"a50274e7-19b2-4a19-802d-da233971e342\" data-langcode=\"en\">\n<figure class=\"media media--type-image media--view-mode-\">\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/im-media.voltron.voanews.com\/Drupal\/01live-166\/styles\/sourced_737px_wide\/s3\/ap-images\/2020\/10\/dabbe2bedb0e924a657183fc1f5b0584.jpg?itok=IMdVvs5J\" alt=\"Democratic vice presidential candidate Sen. She is finishing her day with a speech at a rally where pop singer Alicia Keys is performing. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Biden briefed on virus\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Biden, who has cast blame on Trump for the country\u2019s world-leading coronavirus death toll of more than 226,000, is being briefed by public health experts on the pandemic and then delivering remarks on his plans to curb the spread of the virus.
