The private hospital defended itself, saying it had offered vaccinations to all of its staff.<\/p>\n<div class=\"t-content__body u-clearfix\">\n<div class=\"m-interstitial\">\n<div class=\"m-interstitial__ad\" data-readmore-target=\"\">\n<div class=\"m-block-ad \" data-tms-ad-type=\"box\" data-tms-ad-status=\"resized\" data-tms-ad-pos=\"1\" data-tms-ad-provider=\"dfp\" data-tms-ad-owner=\"fmm\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cPrioritisation is very clear in our country, we protect the most fragile by order of priority,\u201d Health Minister Olivier V\u00e9ran said on Tuesday morning\u00a0in an interview with FranceInfo.<\/p>\n<p>V\u00e9ran said he deplored any special privileges given or queue jumping for Covid-19 vaccines, and would investigate the allegations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.american-hospital.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">American Hospital of Paris<\/a>, located in the exclusive neighbourhood of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neuillysurseine.fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Neuilly-sur-Seine<\/a>, had reportedly given vaccine doses to some 20 members of its board of governors and donors \u2013\u00a0while doctors, nurses and support staff are still waiting for their first injection of the vaccine.<\/p>\n<div id=\"em-WBMZ19692-RFI-EN-20210209\" class=\"m-em-flash\">\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet twitter-tweet-rendered\"><iframe id=\"twitter-widget-0\" class=\"\" title=\"Twitter Tweet\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/embed\/Tweet.html?creatorScreenName=RFI_En&amp;dnt=false&amp;embedId=twitter-widget-0&amp;frame=false&amp;hideCard=false&amp;hideThread=false&amp;id=1359003646235713544&amp;lang=en&amp;origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rfi.fr%2Fen%2Ffrance%2F20210209-american-hospital-of-paris-accused-of-allowing-vips-to-jump-vaccine-queue-covid-19&amp;siteScreenName=RFI_En&amp;theme=light&amp;widgetsVersion=889aa01%3A1612811843556&amp;width=550px\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-tweet-id=\"1359003646235713544\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The hospital, which is popular with celebrities, has not denied giving out vaccines to its board of governors or other \u201cvolunteers\u201d.<\/p>\n<div id=\"tms-ad-inread-5677121409244453\" class=\"tms-ad\" data-tms-ad-type=\"inread\" data-tms-ad-provider=\"teads\" data-tms-ad-status=\"loaded\">\n<div class=\"teads\">\n<div class=\"teads-inread sm-screen\">\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cConforming to the directives given by the Regional Health Agency (ARS), vaccinations have been offered from 4 January 2021 to all people involved in the hospital \u2013 doctors, nurses, administrators, governors, cleaners, security, restaurant workers, volunteers,\u201d the hospital said in reply.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital claimed that unused doses of vaccine, due to existing medical conditions or people who did not wish to be vaccinated, had been used instead for others to prevent any undue wastage of the vaccine because of its perishable nature.<\/p>\n<p>France\u2019s vaccination campaign is currently targeting people over the age of 75 and healthcare workers.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.american-hospital.org\/en\/board-governors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">board of governors<\/a> includes personalities such as CNN\u2019s senior European correspondent <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BittermannCNN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jim Bittermann<\/a>, Norbert Becker, president of PayPal Europe and Iris Knobloch, president of Warner Bros in France.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RFI \u2014 The American Hospital of Paris in the upscale western suburb of Neuilly has been slammed for giving Covid-19 vaccines to members of its board not considered one of the priority at-risk groups.
